Trip Tuesday - The Small Stuff

Well as the departure date for trip number one rapidly approaches, this week has been all about finishing off the small stuff in preparation. The maps are printed, as are the reservations and directions. I'm normally stuffing everything in my case as I go out the door and find I forget things, but I can honestly say I think this is the most organised I've ever been for a trip.

To start with, I've stuffed the pockets with some of the smaller cards I've downloaded or created. I was tempted to add a princess paperclip or two, but in honesty I'm a little worried about losing them.

I also made a little folder to keep journaling cards inside my folder. I opted for some of the paper from my Simple Stories Say Cheese paper pack. This was super easy as all I had to do was fold the paper and glue.

As such the design is simple but effective and gives me two pouches for storing cards or prehaps memorabilia from around the parks: tickets, postcards and the like.

The pockets are just the right size for postcard size journaling cards, which look really sweet tucked up inside there.

As you can never have enough paper, I've been decorating some of mine with Disney themed washi tape. I used coloured A5 paper plus standard issue Filofax paper and was happy with the effects on both.

This was a more cost effective way of ensuring I had Disney paper in my planner. I'd looked around and although pads were available, they were not cheap especially when you were looking in the region of 20 sheets per pack.

If you're planning a trip and haven't put together a binder or itenerary I would highly recommend it. I don't know how I would have managed this trip without one,

Week Thirty Six

I'm really excited about this week: this week I go back to my favourite place. That's right, it's Disneyland. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it holds a special place in my heart as it's somewhere special to me and Mr S. We've been there every New Year since we met, and with the house hunt well underway it's likely to be the last one for a while.

This does of course mean there is a Disney theme to my planner this week, using Simple Stories and Queen &Co supplies to decorate my planners.

My personal size is a bit busy looking this week, but I think it works and I rather like the effect. I'm rather loving the stickers and the way they compliment the tape used.

My A5 in comparison is slightly less busy looking because the stickers are a better size for the page and the larger boxes. I enjoyed using the letters to create our departure day on the page. I even added a journal card to compliment the stickers.

I'm in love with that ticket tape which is by Queen & Co.

I also enjoyed layering stickers to create a really funky effect. I'm all planned, so now all I have to go. I can't wait!

Wherever you are and whatever you're doing, I hope you have a good week!

Trip Planning Tuesday -DLP

We'll, we've got little over a week left until we go to Disneyland Paris. This is a funny trip that has me feeling both sad and excited at the same time. Mr S and I have been going there every year since we met, but there are big things ahead which means holidays will be cut from the agenda. I'm excited for the future, but I feel a bit like I don't know when I'm going to see my best friend again.

Naturally this means I'm working on making every second count whilst we're there. I've even worked out which pictures to take to put onto canvases and in frames when we return.

I've made itinerary sheets for each day we're there. I used a photo from one of our previous trips as a watermark to make the background and I really love how it's turned out. We'll be sitting down to fill these in tonight as I'm trying to angle for one last trip to Buffalo Bills... Wish me luck!

I also created my own tracker for our spends whilst we're away so it's easier for us to keep track of our pennies. I always take a little extra for any nice stationery items too, you know a girl can never have enough washi tape, stickers or sticky notes!

I kept this one simple too, using the Waltograh font which is free to download. I kept the page plain then decorated with washi afterwards. Although these match the Say Cheese range by Simple Stories, they're made by Queenie and Co.

I'm now on a list minute bid to find a craft folio for my journaling cards, which are being split between my Paris and my Orlando planner (and probably my fluoro too!) I wish I'd ordered a Websters craft folio, but I've left it too late for one to arrive on time now.

So, a few things left, then we're off. I can't wait to go!

Week Thirty Four

It's been a crazy week here after fur baby number four got spayed. Trying to get a five month old kitten to lay down and rest is not as easy as it sounds!

We're also building up to our next trip, so in light of that the excitement is reflected in my planner this week!

I've opted for a girly pink week in my planner using princess washi tape (from Amazon) and some Aurora stickers I picked up in the range. The countdown stickers I made myself.

My personal size is coordinated again this week as I couldn't get enough of the princess tape, even though I have been a bit cack handed with it.

I opted for skinny tape in my personal size too as it gives me more space to write in the boxes.

Wherever you are and whatever you're doing, I hope you're having a good week!

Trip Planning Tuesday - WDW planner started

After last week's debacle with computer issues and the PC still being on the fritz, I decided to be practical this week and write a to do list.

Some of the things I couldn't do because the computer won't play ball (guess what Mr S is doing this weekend?) but I got as much done as I could.

I worked on both planners this week which is a bit of a change but it means I feel like I've got more done.

First on the list was some dividers for my trip to Orlando, which are made from Enchanted papers by Simple Stories.

They look great in the filofax, but don't look too closely at the labels... The 'i' key stopped wiring on my label maker!

I also did packing lists, making a set for each planner. I did think about typing them but I like that I'd I need to I can add stuff to the list without feeling like I've ruined it.

Lastly I took advantage of the extra time I had today and cut out some of the journal pages I've already printed for my planner. I love how they look inside my domino next to my new dividers!

Week Thirty Three

As you may have guessed with my upcoming trip, there's a bit of a theme with my next few weeks. Both planners match again this week too!

I've opted for Minnie Mouse this week. Both the tape and the sticky notes came from the Disney Store this time.

The sticky notes are the same high quality as the Inside Out ones, but the tape is a little strange. It's not papery, but it's not plasticky either. I'm not too sure how best to describe it. On the upside though, they do come in a cute Minnie washi holder.

The only downside was that it did mean my personal size looked a little crowded. I never learn!

Well wherever you are and whatever you're doing, I hope you have a good week'

Week thirty-two

I've opted for matching themes this week based on my cinema visit at the weekend. This week is based on 'Inside Out' (which if you haven't seen I would strongly recommend!)

I love the space my A5 gives me to use these sticky notes which are from the Disney Store. I used a range of washi tapes from my stash in complimentary colours.

You'll also notice the countdown stickers in my planner which I made myself. Not long until our trip now!

I used thinner tapes in my color crush as I still wanted to be able to use the stickynotes I'd chosen. I'm a little bit in love with these as they're really thick and have a nice feel to them.

I just wish I could have used them all as there are 16 designs and 30 sheets of each. They'd probably be better suited to an Erin Condren than a filofax, but they're still fab all the same!

Disney Freebie Webfinds

With planning two Disney trips, I've been scouring the web for ideas and content for my planners. Whilst most of these have been practical, I've picked up a couple of freebies this week to make my planner look pretty too,

The first are these journaling cards from Britt-ish Designs which come as a set of four. The site does lots of bundles which you can purchase, but if you scroll right down to the bottom of the page you'll find these little cuties!

Second was another set of journaling cards, or you could use these as themed paper by Scrap with Sara. There were nine cards in total with Mickey and most of his friends on. I've printed these A5 size to fit my planner but you could make them bigger or smaller to meet your needs.

Lastly are these journal pages aimed at adults for recording your daily highlights by Mouse for Less. These are Tinkerbell themed but the website offers a massive selection which you can download and print for your journal in full and half page sizes. I was really excited about this as I'm always worried I'm going to forget something but I can fill this in as I go and make sure I don't forget.

Hope you enjoy!

Trip-Planning Tuesday

I've got a couple of trips coming up, so naturally this gave me an excuse for a new planner to both plan and document my holiday. I'm loving setting it up and can't wait for the first of my holidays.

I opted for this fun polka dot planner and even had a go at printing some bits whilst I wait for everything else to arrive so I can really get my teeth in. I made these by searching for free disney printable silhouettes on google then adding the striped backgrounds.

This planner also means I've had an excuse to use my TKMaxx bargain, although it's not stopped me picking up some other pretty things as well.

I discovered the enchanted range this week which is all very princess-esque and lovely.

Firstly I made a pretty set of dividers, although I'm in two minds about laminating them as they become very heavy when I do this.

So far I've planned my sections and what is going in each one. I used my label maker from Hema to identify each divider. I think the black works really well with the paper too.

Lastly I couldn't resist a pretty page marker to help me find my place when I get there.

Now I've started my planner I've really got the bug and am impatient to complete both this one, and the one for my trip to Orlando in October. I'd best get cracking I guess!

Week 26

I've opted for contrasting themes this week in each planner. Both are colourful and fun. One of the things I really love about a multiplanner system is how it allows me more options when playing around with decoration in my set up.

In my color crush this week I've opted for Hema tapes in vibrant colours. I love those eye catching shades and the funky patterns!

My tweed however, I decided to go princess-y on you all and used eBay washi finds to decorate my page and some princess stickers to carry the theme on.

Cinders here adorns this week's pages after I found these puffy stickers in the pound shop.

She is of course accompanied by her friends on the tape too. It certainly gives me a smile this week.

Wherever you are and whatever you're doing, I hope you have a good week!

Personal Size Dividers

After I finished the dashboard for my personal size, I got straight on with dividers to match. They're from the same paper as my A5 dividers but in a slightly different order.

I'm really pleased with them, I think my favourite might be the one on the bottom right. It's got Sebastian from The Little Mermaid on it.

I love how pretty these are and the pink interior of my Filofax complements them really well in my opinion.

I've really enjoyed making these, but I think I might do something other than Disney for my next set, although saying that, I've already started planning my winter set up. Nothing like being organised!

Personal Size Dashboard

I've been crafting and creating again, this time making a dashboard for my personal size. I toyed with the idea of doing something different, but as it's supposed to work alongside my A5 I decided that the dashboard would be very similar.

It's not exactly the same as my A5, but from the same paper stock. The only down side to this was that some of the pictures were too big to use as the personal is smaller. The paper was from Amazon and is Disney themed scrapbook paper. There's a huge selection available but I opted for the princess papers.

Hole punching was an experience too. I bought a rapesco personal size hole punch a while back, believing it to be A5. Not only was it a bit stiff, though I attributed this to the laminated paper, but it was trickier than I expected to line up. I'll need a bit more practice before I do dividers to match the dashboard.

All in all though, I'm happy with the way it has turned out. It looks so sweet in the front of my planner.

My holiday, my planner and me

I'm not a naturally organised person, it's no secret: it's why I enthuse so vehemently every opportunity I get. I'm so excited for my trip to Disney this weekend I can scarcely contain it and this is by far the most organised I've ever been going away. Why did no one tell me about this planning lark before?

Normally, I'd be frantically stuffing things in my suitcase right now. I kid you not! Which of course means I invariably forget something.

The checklist I put in my planner at the beginning of the week means all these things were packed without missing anything. Not only this but planning packing into my week means it was done and not the day I go away.

Handy post-it reminders mean I haven't forgotten the essentials either. I really can't believe I never did this for a holiday sooner. I fall in love with my planner a little bit more every day. Now all that's left is to keep myself occupied until we leave!

Week Seven

This is possibly my favourite week in my planners so far and I've really enjoyed decorating them.

I'm still getting the hang of my personal size but loved the tapes I used this week. We're off to Disneyland this weekend so I couldn't resist dotting in some Mickeys here and there.

My A5 has a lovey dovey theme as well, as it's not just Valentines but Mr S' birthday too. This was the decision to go away this weekend, to celebrate.

I've used some Paris themed paper to make a list of all the things I mustn't forget this week in preparation.

I've even made some Mickey themed paperclips to go with this week. I just love these pretty pink sparkles!

I'm so excited for this week, I can't wait for the weekend!

More Dividers

As always I've been enjoying some craft time this weekend, making dividers for my tweed and some cute paperclips. The dividers match my dashboard and add to the girly feel of my planner.

I still had a little difficulty with the laminator, although these came out better than the Roald Dahl ones. My favourite one is the green one.

They look fab in my planner too. I think these might be my favourite thing in my planner yet.

I also took some time to make some pretty paperclips this weekend with some flowers I got from the pound shop.

I really liked the colours in the selection, they're really pretty and they look really sweet in my personal size too.

And here's a wider selection of my newly decorated paperclips:
