Week Nine (pink peonies)

Well, I for one am glad this week is over. It's been a tough week and I'm glad the weekend is here. Feeling the urge for spring to be back again (I'm fed up of running in the rain!) I moved into my Vanskap this week, loving that fresh mint colour.

Still feeling the need for some pink and sparkle, I used a washi tape set I picked up in Ikea last weekend. I particularly liked the cream and gold one. With the pink and gold, I decided to carry on the theme by breaking out some Heidi Swapp stickers. Some floral paperclips then added to the theme.

I loved the peonies in particular, they made the week much more cheerful. To keep the positivity vibe going, I made sure to tuck some journalling cards into my planner with quotes I liked.

Finally some flags from Mambi helped me keep track of my steps this week, and complimented my layout with cute pastel colours. Other than that a few doodles helped me keep track of my activities this week.

I hope you had a good week too!

Week 8 (Pink and Princessy)

I posted last weekend about my coming week, and now we're at the end let's take a look at how my pages have grown over the course of the week. I'm using in my A5 fluro pink Filofax original this week, and it's been a real pink sort of week. I've certainly been embracing my inner princess.

Here's my week before the pen. I used Simple Stories 'Enchanted' range this week, alongside some washi tape I picked up in Primark. It also gave me the opportunity to bust out the Disney Princess paperclips I got from the Disney Store last year.

This was a great opportunity to get the Disney pens out this week as well, I haven't really used them since we went to Disney World, so I couldn't resist having a play.

The first half of my week was pretty quiet, although I added some Mambi page flags to keep track of my activity and steps from my Fitbit. Although I try to be pretty active, holding myself accountable like this seems to have been a good incentive as I definitely upped my game this week.

As an added win this happened! A personal best whilst out running (ok so I'm still pretty slow but I'm making progress and that's the important thing). I couldn't stop grinning.

The second half of my week got a little busier, the accountability thing definitely worked for me. I also added in some smash flags for blog posts and I'm feeling like this week was rather accomplished and successful.

I'm still re-purposing old planner pages, as I haven't been able to find some A5 pages that I like for 2017 but I actually think that is working to my advantage as it's forcing me to be a bit more creative as well as taking me out of my comfort zone a little.

I hope your week was as good as mine!

Sparkle Planner

I was rather excited to receive this beautiful pink personal size planner this week. Since moving house, other than Christmas this was the first new planner I've had since moving into my house, which has been a bit of a strange phenomenon having been able to get new planners on a whim previously. I've been hankering for this one for a while, and this week the Mister brought it home. I love the saying on the front, 'its your time to sparkle' and the dark pink elastic on the front only added to it's charm.

Inside, the planner continued it's cute vibe with a handy to do list, plenty of pockets and cute ombre dividers. I felt the planner had a bit of a Kikki K vibe to it, however, although lovely you can feel that this planner was less expensive than a Kikki K. Despite this it does make an affordable alternative.

I was a little disappointed with the weekly section, as the Paperchase planners I have had before have always had really practical and useful inserts, however the weekly was more like a timetable which doesn't really work for me. The paper is really pretty, and the pages are undated which means I can save them as they may come in handy at a later date.

The shopping list inserts are cute, and I shall probably use these although my writing may be a bit bog for the small lines. They've got a cute blue ombre border on them, with the blue contrasting the pink planner and dividers.

I really loved the notepaper, which Paperchase have opted for grid paper. I'm really hoping they make this available separately, as I can see myself using this a lot. I'm a sucker for grid paper and the border really adds to it in my opinion.

Overall, a great budget planner with a cute design. Some of the inserts are not what I would have preferred personally, but I like to swap and change planners so that's not an issue. This will definitely be in my travel bag for the next Disney trip, as the weekly pages would work for tracking fast passes and parks. It's also nice and light so won't weigh me down around the parks!

The Week Ahead

well, hello there, it's been a while. After a period of absense I'm back following a rather hectic few months. Since we last spoke I've moved into my first house and the family have had to face my dad's deterioration. He's still walking but lots of things we took for granted before have become steep learning curves. As we've adjusted and the house is finally (mostly) in order, I've gone back to my planners more regularly and with that I've begun to play and post on Instagram again.

At the moment I'm back in my fluoro pink Filofax original as I do love an A5. I've also been using a personal size Kikki K but I was struggling with the size a little, although that being said I don't have much going on this week so may have moved prematurely.

My inserts are from Paperchase, they're technically last year's but it seemed a shame to waste them. They've had some cute pink washi added which I picked up in Primark. This was part of a set of 5, all of which had various designs but it was the cute stripes that caught my eye.

To decorate I used stickers from Simple Stories. I've been holding out on these because they're so pretty, but life is short and I can always replace them if need be and they really matched my princess mood. Now I just need to find some princess things to do with my week.

In keeping with my princess theme, I added planner clips I picked up in the Disney store last year and hadn't used yet. I was spoilt for choice but how could I not use Cinderella's carriage?

With all this Disney in the air I couldn't help but bust out my Minnie and Marie pens. I love the cute pink bows!

Week 24

I'm in my yellow color crush again this week. I'm loving that cheerful sunshine yellow especially after all the rain we've had!

I used coordinating tapes and stickers that I've had in my stash for ages from Sainsburys. I just loved how cheerful and pretty there are and to be honest it's one of my favourite weekly spreads!

The pen I used however is my Ataxia pen as this is a special week. My dad has Ataxia, and this weekend was Father's Day so I included my pen to honour him, my hero! We've also got our colour run coming up in two weeks to raise money for Ataxia, we've reached 81% of our target!

It's been a hectic week this week, I hope you had a great week!

Week 23

It's been a while and I've missed my planning. Don't get me wrong, I've still been using my planner but nothing worth sharing. My planner supplies have been boxed up but we've finally moved into our house and now the boxes are gone and my planners have taken over! Yay!

I'm using my yellow color crush at the moment. I've had to switch to a backpack for work as I'm further away from work, isn't it gorgeous! I'm waiting for my walnut color crush to arrive as I think it'll be stunning with this bag but the yellow is a great match too!

After some heavy conversations amongst various people regarding the referendum this week, this card seemed appropriate so I tucked it in!

I've used Kikki K washi this week for a fun summer theme. I matched it with mambi and paperchase stickers. There's a little pineapple clip from Hema and my cute watermelon pen from Kikki K.

I couldn't resist tucking this little beauty in too. I'm dreaming of some summer sunshine and good vibes! Hope you've had a good week too!

You know you're a planner addict when...

Planning is great, it helps me be where I need to be when I want to be. It ensures I know which day of the week it is (yes, this is an actual issue for me!) and never forget a birthday. Not only that but it allows me a creative outlet through decorating my weekly spread. This hobby, (although lifestyle might be a better word) can be addictive. If you're not sure you're addicted, here are a few signs to look out for....

1. You have more than one planner.

If you've got one for every occasion, you might be a planner addict. If people buy you lots of planners for Christmas or birthdays, this too could be another hint.

You might even have one in every colour!

2. You co-ordinate your pen to your planner.

3. You have a large selection of washi tapes.

4. You match your handbag to your planner.

5. You can't go into a stationery shop without picking up some planner supplies.

6. You fan-girl when your favourite shops or bloggers like your pictures.

My poor boyfriend thought something was really wrong when I let out a scream!

7. You take planner selfies on holiday.

Dotty had a lovely time in Paris!

8. You coordinate with your planner.

Or is that your planner coordinates with you? It might be matching nails, accessories or outfit, but there's some matching going on.

9. Your phone is just full of planner pictures.

Although the same is also true for your Instagram, Facebook and Twitter feeds.

10. Unicorn no longer means the fluffy animal with a horn!

Though of course your planner might feature the traditional variety too, but when you hear unicorn you think of that magical planner that evades your grasp. You know, the one you get outbid on at the last minute? Maybe they don't stock it anymore, but you remain optimistic that one day it will be yours.

11. Gappy rings are literally your worst nightmare!

If you've ever opened a planner up and have seen this, you will know the pain. Thankfully some are an easy fix.

12. You get excited when your job gives you an excuse for another planner.
